Emergency Crisis Shelter

Since 1980, SPARK Foundation of Lloydminster has provided emergency shelter to:

Our Emergency Shelter provides free of charge, temporary, safe accommodation for women and children experiencing family violence or other life crisis. The emergency shelter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The length of stay can be anywhere from a few days up to three weeks. We are here to help women and their children stay safe from family violence.

CASE PLAN

Women staying at the shelter are offered ongoing case plan support. The focus of this is to assist in creating a plan and working towards goals for after discharge from the shelter.

Case planning is specific to each client’s needs and can include:

Outreach support is also available after discharge from the shelter to to continue making connections in the community and follow up on tasks that may not have been completed during the shelter stay.

Our Family Support team provides support to meet the unique needs of the families who are currently staying in the shelter. The focus of our work is to build supportive, trusting relationships with every mother and child that helps them to move forward.

Dol-Mar Manor

All of the services available at Dol-Mar Manor are to assist women to gain the tools necessary to live a life outside the web of Family Violence.

Dol-Mar Manor is a Second Stage Housing Shelter/Transitional Housing facility, the next step for women and children, or women leaving an emergency shelter.

Dol-Mar Manor provides longer term support, programming and security in modestly furnished, independent apartments.

Dol-Mar Manor offers one-on-one support for families, providing practical assistance with parenting, life skills, budgeting, nutritional meal planning, etc.

Dol-Mar Manor is respectfully named in honour of our founders Dolores Cummine and Marjorie Nattress who helped to open the Lloydminster Interval Home in 1980.

Family Violence Outreach

The Family Violence Outreach Program empowers women to create meaningful change that leads to safety and well-being. Our Outreach Workers will assist women with identifying and connecting with the necessary resources to realize their goals and move toward a healthier lifestyle.

Support for Older Adults

Any older adult can experience harm – help is available.

Are you:

Experiencing trouble in a trusting relationship
60 years of age or older, and identify as an older adult
In the Lloydminster and surrounding area

One on one, personalized support
Creating plans for safety
Connection with community supports
Help with basic living needs

Lloydminster Community Youth Centre

The Lloydminster Community Youth Centre has been in our community for many years and has operated under many different names and locations but the goal of giving youth a safe place to attend and be themselves has always been the same. In 2016, the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre amalgamated with the Lloydminster Interval Home Society. This created efficiencies in facilities and staffing while giving us the opportunity to provide more meaningful programs and services to our community members.
